Monday
I started off the week really well today. I am really proud of the volume of work completed, and most importantly, the boxes I was able to tick on my Trello board. The current Trello board and where I am with my work can be seen below...

As seen above, I was able to finalise all mindmaps, and complete mood boards for every idea too. To be entirely honest, I didn’t find the mood board as useful as I thought it might be. The idea of it was to help me visualise ideas, but I struggled to do so with a few of them (particularly the running doc and film about struggling with superpowers). Though this could be seen as a negative thing, what it means for me right now is that I probably shouldn’t be looking to produce them. If I can’t visualise them now, how am I meant to in a few weeks when I would be researching and pre-producing. To explain further, though the mood boards definitely helped to some extent, what I struggled with was understanding the bulk story and contents of each of the productions. To ensure that this is the right decision to make, I am going to focus tomorrow's efforts on producing a SWOT analysis for all 4 ideas. The SWOT analysis will help to break the ideas down and help me to understand which idea I should be taking forward.
A timelapse of my work today can be seen in the video below.
Tuesday
On Tuesday I produced 4 SWOT analyses, one for each idea. Whilst producing these I had to think about all aspects of the production and how each of them would play into the ability of me producing the idea. Basically, I had to think not only creatively but also logistically; for the most part, up until now I had been pretty lenient on being logistical as I didn’t want this to limit my creativity, but as it comes to the point where I need to start making a decision, I do be critical on myself. Furthermore, whilst going through these different ideas I also thought about whether I actually wanted to produce them. Though it sounds strange and I understand the main purpose for me producing this piece of work is for the course, I do want it to be something I enjoy producing and can be proud of at the end of everything, so I also thought about the passion I had for each project. If there is no passion from the artist, how is the audience meant to appreciate the art – I need to be thinking about the process it takes to get there, not just the end result.
With all of these different considerations in mind, I ended up making my final decision: Misophonia Documentary.
For the rest of the day, I then caught up on writing the commentary around all of my work on the ideas development page. This was good as it meant I was on track and not falling behind work.
Wednesday - Thursday
To finalise LO1.1 I then decided that it would be appropriate to expand upon this idea I chose as this would help me to better understand what I intend to produce. This was useful to me at this point in time because though I had ideas, they were all within the large mind map I had created. Though this was effective at the time, having a more concise mind map would be useful for future references too. The content ideas mind map I decided to produce can be found below.

I then decided to produce a title ideas mindmap to expand upon what I had before. I did however decide that this is subject to change as the research could end informing what I call it (feedback from primary research perhaps). This was very useful as I was able to produce more potential ideas – the more ideas I have, the higher the chances I have to find ‘the best title for the documentary’.

Friday
On Friday I started and completed LO1.2, the proposal, action plan and proposed research sources. To begin, the proposal is something I really wanted to get right, and I spent a lot of time making it as clear and concise as I could: when my tutor reads it, I want them to fully understand my vision for the production.
When inserting the potential research sources into the proposal, to overcome the time-wasting problem of having to manual write the havard reference in, I used a website called ‘mybib’ to do it for me. An example of me using this can be seen below where I type the ISBN number to find the book I want

Some further work I did after completing all of the potential research, was prepare my opportunity for using the facebook groups as research sources. The reason I had to ‘prepare’ was because all of the groups were private and I had to be accepted into the group. I did not know how long this would take, so I decided to do it now to give myself enough time. An example of what I wrote when sending a request to the group can be seen below.

It was important that I read all of the rules of the group before requesting to join as it's important that I respect the rules. An example of this can be seen below where I could not join a group because I am not over 18.
