Reflection upon presentation

Today was the day for my LO7 part 3 presentation to a specified audience. I was quite nervous to do the presentation, but having planned and produced the presentation a few days ago, and running through it last night, there was nothing to worry about.

I will firstly say that I think the presentation went very well. Having run through the presentation the night before, I was well equipped to bounce off of my notes on the presentation and expand upon them through my words. I found that in the moment of the presentation I did very well at explaining the decisions I made and most importantly, why I made them. I was able to go into a lot of detail, and through speaking about them, I was able to remember other points to speak about too.

Nigel and Danny actually asked questions against what I was saying that I was going to mention later on in the presentation. This shows that what I included within the presentation was the correct evidence to include. This happened when I was discussing having researched misophonia to ensure I don’t trigger those I work with, as Nigel then proceeded to ask about how I coped with this with my brother who was also apart of the documentary. I was going to get onto working with my brother within the next section, but instead decided to bounce off of what Nigel was saying and include it here instead.

I also really liked the fact I included video evidence as this was really useful to speak about. It was much easier to speak about something that they could see and hear. A specific example is the use of intercutting, as I was then able to explain my thoughts and decisions that I made regarding this. When questioned why I’m happy with the intercutting, it was easy to answer as I had little notes explaining the structure that I had planned out.

With this being my very last learning objective task, I also found it quite a sentimental moment; coming to the end of a 16 week long project as well as coming to the end of college as a whole. I really tried to put in all my effort into the final presentation in order to round everything off to a positive ending that has hopefully reflected the way in which I have tried to work for my time at college.
